Japanese Developers Android Arrested For Injecting Malware Into The Application - Japanese police arrested five mobile application developers for creating and implanting a virus to a smartphone application creation. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Intial reports that as many as 90,000 users of smartphones have been infected with the virus that lurks in the applications they download. The police also found that the developer was stealing more than 10 million pieces of personal information from mobile users.

This development group run company dealing with IT, they created a video application for Android smartphones that contain a virus to quote personal data stored in the phone. They released the application on the official Google Inc. store. free of charge at the end of last March and has been downloaded 270,000 times.
This free app is marketed to users who put the keyword "The Movie" to the popular game titles they are looking for. When the application is downloaded and activated, it sends personal data automatically. Indeed stolen information found on the server that have not been used by malware developers but police are investigating the motive behind the crime.
The defendant was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment or a fine of ¥ 500,000. Creating viruses for computers and smartphones is a serious crime under the Criminal Code revision enacted in July.
